St.
Patrick’s Youth Program
One of the most
critical missions of St. Patrick’s Church is to serve our young people,
to help them grow into responsible, mature men and women, who ground
their lives in an authentic, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
God's TYM (Total Youth Ministry) is a Dynamic Youth
Program for High School Teens.
What is God's
TYM
God's TYM is not CCD. Rather, God's TYM seeks to help young
people in all dimensions of their lives–emotional, spiritual, and
relational–and addresses issues especially important to teens, such as
peer pressure, sexuality, and drugs. God's TYM helps teens
explore their commitment to Jesus Christ, but all in a context of
exciting activities and excursions, service projects, and serious
dialogue about what’s important in their lives.
Youth Night
God's TYM is centered on the Sunday Eucharist. The 5:00 PM Sunday Mass
is followed by a Youth Night from 7 to 9 PM for teenagers of High School
age. During the Youth Night, young people explore important faith
issues like the role of the Eucharist in their lives, and hot topics
especially important to teens, such as dysfunctional families, peer
pressure, healthy and unhealthy relationships, and addictions.
Social Night
Each month there is also a social night,
when we enjoy such activities as bowling, the movies, or ice skating.
In addition, we go on excursions such as a weekend skiing trip. In all
cases, we center our activities around Jesus Christ through shared
prayer which usually concludes the Youth Night.
Service Projects
An important part of God's TYM is an emphasis on service projects,
to help people in our parish and larger community. Service projects
include a dinner for senior citizens, gift wraps, caroling at Holy
Comforter Nursing Home, and an annual fund raising venture to help a
worthy program such as breast cancer research.
Fun
Above all, God's TYM is fun! Teens get to know each other, and by
shared activities build friendships which go on to adult life.
Give God's TYM a
try! You will not regret it
